"My daughter
and I were out taking photos of her old high school haunts before her
class reunion in 1999. The February 14th one is quite possibly the last
photo of the building before the fire on the 18th." The Balboa Yacht Club and American Legion building was a famous icon in the Canal Zone for many years. The building was originally built as a Navy Officers' Club at Fort Amador and housed the Yacht Club and Pacific Sailfish Club when it was transferred to the Yacht Club in 1946.
