Photo of the Week

I found this photo this while looking for something else and was trilled to death to see the old Balboa YMCA swimming pool. Many of us Zonian kids went to the pool there for swimming lessons. Broke my heart when I saw it filled in and made into a parking lot when Panama took over. This photo was take in right after Operation Just Cause in December 1989. The old Balboa Police Station met it's fate with a Specter C130 gunship. That was some precise accuracy. This was the real beginning of the end for our Canal Zone.
