Found this rare photo while looking through the Panama Canal Museum at the University of Florida's digital collection. This is Officer Dean Anderson of the Gamboa, Canal Zone Police. This photo is circa 1940 - 1950s. The location is on the platform of the Gamboa, Panama Railroad passenger station. What a classic photo! Looking to your right is the First Class seating area as the sign on the wall says. There is also the men's bathroom. The ticket sales booth is down the building sticking out behind the classic baggage cart.

Those were the days. Long live our Canal Zone memories.
