This is a great site! I attended Canal Zone College from 1967-1969 after moving to the CZ from Louisiana right after graduating HS....father stationed at Albrook. Your site brought back memories of different places....Thanks!!!
This site is WONDERFUL!!!!!!! A million thanks to Jim Bennett for sending me the URL and Millions of THANKS to all who participated in making it a realith.
I am always happy to hear from anyone from Paraiso, Pedro Miguel Gamboa or anywhere in Panama.
As a long time Zonian, my love is still there. I was born at Gorgas Hospital, lives in Gamboa (Santa Cruz) all my life until my high school sweetheart join the US Army. Still love Gamboa
I am just kind of getting started in internet. At least knowing a little about it. I have the website since a few weeks ago and am going thru it very slowly. However, I am impressed and thankful for the dedication to Paul Best, who was my very closest friend during his last 7 or 8 years of life. I worked with DEH as an Engr tech. Thanks also for the memories.
Thanks for giving us a little bit of home. It will always live in our hearts!
I enjoy the images on this website. I think you are doing a great job. Though I have developed my own sites now I still depend on sites like these.
I lived in Gamboa and attended the elementary school in the late 50's and early 60's... always wondered where are all the Zonians? I have spend hours looking at your great pictures, great memories! Thanks!
Very good site. Brings it all "BACK" Take Care Eddie
I'm a Panamanian living in Vermont since 1978 and your web site was send to me by a very dear friend , and I got to tell you that brought tears to my eyes. Thank for doing this beautiful job. thanks again an Peace to You ; Sal Contreras.
Very good, keep up the good work!!
Uncle "Meat", I truly admire what you have done with this Web page. I congratulate you and urge to continue this legacy. If you get in contact with my brother Jaco he could probably hook you up with some interesting photos. Where did you go from Panama after your retirement?, I went by your retirement ceremony. I retired from the Air Force after 24 years. I spent 22 of those years in Panama and also retired there in 98. We relocated to San Antonio. Take care my friend, and keep up the good work. Ralph
Hi, I love your photos! We have sailing friends in Boca del Toro right now, so I looked it up on the net and your site came up. I loved Panama. We we anchored in Balboa for a week in 1995 and also anchored in the flats (waiting out storms) near Colon. I would have liked to have seen more of the inland country and visited the San Blas Islands. but we had a deadline to get to Cancun and had to leave when the weather broke. Your photos are wonderful!
It's always nice to read your guest book Bill, and your work is so much appreciated by those of us who love the CZ and Panama. If any of you "Zonians" get out to the Midwest, consider Iowa a place to visit and look me up! Recently became a Grandma to probably the most beautiful granddaughter in the world! (Ha, not too biased am I???) She is a pure joy and truly puts the "Grand" in "Granddaughter"! Am looking forward to the birthday reunion for us half century old ones! It ought to be a party we will never forget! Again, Bill, keep up the good work...it is a real treat to visit your site. Take care, Aud
Wonderful memories. Was born and raised in the Canal Zone. Came to Tucson in August 1978 and I've been here ever since. I wonder what happened to all our records that used to reside in the Administration Building? How do we go about getting copies of any- thing, i.e. birth certificates, medical records and such? What else can we get from Panama? My sister sent the web site to me and have been enjoying it since.
Pictures were inspiring, and beautiful.
This is a wonderful site. I am interested in obtaining a copy of a photo that I saw on the site. How do I go about doing that?
Bill:
I not only uttered a 'wow' and a 'sigh', I cried.
You're good people.
Thanks,
Jim Rybicki and Family (Cecilia, Mother, and Bobby, Brother)
