We were stationed at Albrook AFS from '83-'87 and we really enjoyed it. We attended Cocoli Baptist Church. We would go to Langosta Beach. Our friends were from many countries. It gives me joy to look through your web site. I have photos I could send you to add to your collection if you are interested. We have photos of our missionary friends also.

Thank you for this fine web site.
I have written in other years and thought I might do this each year, just in case someone would like to communicate with an Old Soldier. My Units were Company G 33rd Inf. Reg. Fort Kodde, CZ & Company E 20th (Sykes Regulars) Inf. Reg. Ft. Kobbe, CZ. Of course I pulled duty throughout the Zone. Ft. Clayton, Ft. Davis, & Ft. Sherman, Balboa Pumping Station, Meria Folors Locks, Camp Pina and other locations. I was there between May 1954 and September 1956.
Who remembers Colonel Elegar? You had to salute his car whether he was in it or not.

Thank you for the excellent website on Quarry Hts and the Canal Zone.
I was assigned to USA Sig Comm Svc, Quarry Hts, from Dec 1960 through Nov 1962 and have many fond memories of Quarry Hts and the surrounding area.
My first born son was born at Gorgas Hospital, Ancon, in Sep 1962. I worked at the HF Radio Transmitter site in Corozol, which was across the canal from Coco Solo naval docks.
I attended the ribbon cutting ceremonies for the "Bridge Of The Americas" on opening day and walked from the Balboa side to the center of the span before auto traffic was allowed . What a treat after having to await "sailing" on the Thatcher Ferry!
Wish that I could offer you photos, I had hundreds, but I have lost them due to divorce from my former wife.
As Bob Hope used to say, "Thanks for the memory."

Great site. I wish you well. My father was at Fts. Sherman and Davis from 1938-1942 as a chaplain. My brother and I recently visited the CZ and saw what has become of both posts. We left in early '42, when we were 8 & 7 years old.
