Loved the pictures and it is so great to see people spending time to preserve our love of Panama. Thanks for the memories. Mary Pope CHS 66
This website is certainly one of the very best websites regarding the Canal Zone. Bill, you have done a very worthy job in this wonderful presentation.
I was the last CO of Galeta Island. I lowered the US flag in March of 1999. My five years in Colon were great!!
Wonderful trip down memory lane. Keep up the excellent work.
THANKS
I enjoy browsing frequently thru your website Bill and I thank you along with so many in keeping the memories alive. Since I started going to the CZ reunion I look forward to the same time of the year to meet so many friends especially from CURUNDU where I lived all my Zonian life.
You done good. Many thanks.
Class of '57. Also graduated from CZJC (back then) in '59.
Wonderful site. The pictures bring back great memories.
I'm now teaching English as a Second Language in San Antonio. Can't tell you much about Al Estrada-Berg (Class of '56) since we have divorced.
Thanks, Bill. See you VERY soon in Tampa.
Love your website! My husband and I were married at the little church on Ft. Amador and our reception was at the Tivoli Hotel, February 10, 1968. I have been back to Panama several times to visit my sister (worked for DODDS) and enjoyed every trip. The photos bring back a lot of wonderful memories. Thanks!
Top of the morning. God Bless all here. A day like today reminds me of when I was living in Building #519 Fort Clayton. The dew would be like a wet slicker all over the ground. The clouds would lie low and gray over the near verdant green mountains. I would look toward west and lo and behold there would be a large container ship cutting a path through the jungle heading for Miraflores Locks. That scene alone as I leisurely drank a cup of the best coffee in the world, Cafe Duran...si satisface....And sitting there basking in the afterglow of last nights fiestas, I would think; "It doesn't get any better than this....yes, Mon!" This is paradise for sure! Haven't you notice on each visit home to Panama that time seems to slow down.......almost as if the ambience is whispering only to you....."Slow down, don't run, no need.......you are in Panama now!" > Yes, Great site! Hasta la vista.......I'LL BE-BACK..........
your site is an absolute wonder. very well done.
