Interesting web site you are developing. At first glance I saw the name "Gaines" on your Panama photo web page (http://www.czimages.com/CZMemories/Sherman/fort_sherman.htm) and I thought you were the same Gaines as my friend Major Roger Gaines, but I saw a different first name.
I am sending you two links that I think will help you fill in some of the historical gaps your site has. Let me know what you think after you review the following links I am sending you. Keep up the effort to document our history. Thanks!

What a treat! I'm a longtime Zonian (my Dad went down there in 1907!) and I do believe that the wonderful "Canal Spirit" is stronger than ever. (And a lot of the credit goes to you!)
It's especially gratifying to see the large number of entries in your guest book from the "new" generation. They may have missed out on such things as the annual burning of Sosa Hill, weekends at Amador and Farfan beach, and all that, but they are just as ZONIAN as any of the rest of us!
Just wanted to say that this is a great site. Loved the pictures that I found....brought back a whole host of fond memories. My family (CMS Fred and Sylvia Sisneros, sisters Ana and Cristina) and I lived on Albrook AFS from 1974 till 1979. I graduated in 1977 from Balboa High School and attended Canal Zone College from 1977 thru 1979. I hope that anyone who recognizes the name will take a moment to drop a line so that we can share a few laughs and memories.
Truly amazing and informative site, everything you need to know about the 'canal' is here. Many thanks for all your hard work.
I continue to enjoy your site. I graduated in '49 from BHS. Was home twice in August as my brother, Rafael Reyes, had a serious operation and made it through that but about three weeks later had a heart attack so my husband and I went to the funeral. Want to go back again soon. I still have many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, etc. down there. One of my nephews is Alex Reyes from the Shorty and Slim CD. Keep up the good work and have a Happy Holiday.
