I was only in Gamboa from '74-'77 during my elementary school years but do remember my brother and I hanging out at the Gamboa pool checking in with "Smily", and watching movies at that creepy theatre with bats flying around (at least that's what i thought they were) and going to the Gamboa country club with Mr. Stout for a sandwich and getting a Shirley Temple from the bar. I broke my collar bone and lost 1/2 a front tooth on the hill near the country club. It was nice to see pictures to jar my childhood memories. Thanks Dawn Lacey a.k.a. Dawn Denisar

I have come across an old Heinz ketchup bottle that looks to be the same as your bottle #8 picture. I have searched the web over and your picture is the only one like it I could find. Please let me know any information you may have about the bottle or its value. Thank you, an avid bottle collector

Enjoyed this year's reunion -- best since I have been attending (not every year, but since 1980). The Musical Review at the annual luncheon was superb and the dances were great -- not that I did much dancing with my bad legs, Met so many old friends as well as a lot of my relatives were there this year. You all did an excellent job. See you next year, God willing.

Great site! Not a Zonian by birth, but in heart. I always lived on Howard AFB, but made many road trips to the Atlantic side. Thanks for the memories!

Saw your photos of the old BHS library in its new mission. I am wondering if you know what happened to the old Canal Zone Library?

Very nice site, really I love the way that you love Panama I'm Panamanian o soy Panameņo but in fact we remember the days of the Canal Zone and we miss a lot that days, a few days ago some newspaper here published a notice that said that 80% of the people of panama want the Zonians back again. So that really means something don't you think?

My mother (Panamanian born and raised) married my dad because he went to the Zone for military obligations. They got married and lived in Curundu and lived there for about ten years. I was born there and I visit there every year with relatives. I enjoy having Panama in my cultural upbringing and in my heart. It is truly a wonderful place and I'm glad other people share the same views as mine.
