My email address no longer includes the word "mail" after the @ -- just ctirpak@acps.k12.va.us. So, if you have written and it's been returned, this is the reason. Sorry about that.....it's a work address since I'm not up to "tech" speed at home. Hope everyone is well -- pictures on the web site are super. And, yes, I will be turning 50 soon (go figure - can't lie to you guys) -- reason to celebrate. Location flexible. Christine aka Chris
BILL, GREAT RESPONSE TIME! THANKS FOR THE PIX FROM CARNAVALITO. I WAS REMINDED OF HOW MUCH FUN WE HAD. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Just wanted to tell Bill how wonderful it is to have new pictures on the web site!! Of course, he could have edited my double chin! LOL Now serious stuff, I want to remind all of you members of the society to take a few moments and send in your votes for the Panama Canal Society board! Your vote does count!! The current board has done a great job streamlining and bringing the Society into the 21st century! I am voting to keep the same board members for one more year. REMEMBER TO VOTE!!
Great web page!!! I attended Balboa HS 1973-1975. I was just hunting for some of my classmates when I came across your site.
Great Home Page!
I did not attend BHS, left C.Z. when I was still very young, but I do know some one from this class, however the e-mail address is outdated.
Hope that many of you are planning on attending the CZ Reunion in August. Tomorrow is the last day of the school year and I am looking forward to a much deserved vacation. I think I look forward to the last day of school much more as a teacher than I ever did as a child! Ed & I are going on a cruise May 27th out of Miami on the SS Norway to Cozumel & Costa Maya Mexico & Grand Caymen. We are looking forward to snorkeling & feeding the stingrays & visiting Mayan ruins. I July we will head to D.C. for our mini-"Zonian Party" at Rae Donaldson's. I hope all our classmates in the D.C. area are planning on attending. If you need further info, email me. We will visit Ed's mom in Ohio after that-I love the Ohio River Valley in the summer, beautiful scenery! (Not in the winter where everything is different shades of gray!)In AUgust we head to the CZ Reunion. Unfortunately, we go back to school Aug 4th so I won't be there until Thurs night. Ed is co chairing the golf tournament so he will be there Wed night. This Sat we will all attend the wedding of Laurie(McBride) & Dave's son James.Laurie & I attended St. Mary's together! Its these kinds of occassions that always remind me how lucky I am to have my lifelong zonian friendships. Hope you all have a great summer!!
Our site looks super Bill! Mucho thanks. Looking forward to the D.C. get together July 4th. And more importantly..it's great to see Jacque is doing better. Miss all you Class of 70s. Take care.
The BHS Home Page is one of my favorite sites - takes me on a virtual trip back to Panama and am thrilled when I see a new name and old classmate in the mix. Please note I have moved from Maryland to Virginia - dropped my commute to work from 80 minutes one way to 20 - a big difference in the metro DC area. Look forward to the reunion in July - great place to celebrate the 4th and with BHS pals, even better.
Please note new email:
All I'm an alumni of 1972. I was very glad to see many names that I remember from my days at Balboa. I would be happy to answer any who wish to correspond.
You have an excellent site. Dan
Bill....it is good to see that everyone is staying in touch. Really sorry that I missed the 30th Reunion but have had many many changes in my life going on as does everyone else. I have moved from San Antonio and am now Allen again and life goes on. Would love to know what and where things are going on and get out somewhere to see everyone again and of course hear from so many of my friends. The half century party sounds good and I am sure that would really be fun for a lot of us to see just how much partying we all can still keep up with. Keep me posted and everyone stay in touch. Keep up the good work on this page Bill, without you where would we all be? Best to everyone. Christi
Just a not to let you all know that our classmate Laurie McBride Hazelip has been in the hospital a few days. She is home and I am sure it would cheer her day to hear from old friends. Please drop her a line at KKNJSMOM@earthlink.net. Thanks mucho.
Well classmates...the vickster is on her way to DC to party!! I wish I could be there...but having the 4th of July in the middle of the week just doesn't work for me! Go figure! Hoist a few for me! I miss you all!
Bill,
Checking in after a long time ... thanks for keeping this page going and also for all that you do through your web pages to bring nice memories back to many people ... I just went through your 4th of July photos ... quite a trip down memory lane. I can't tell you how many people mention how important your web site is to them ... you do a great service to all. Thank you! Thank you!
I have been living in Maine since January ... quite a switch for this tropical kid. It is definitely very different but I'm adjusting. Anyhow, it is a beautiful spot, especially in the summer and fall. If anyone finds their way this far north, please give a call and plan to make a stop. The lobster is fantastic! :)
Best regards to all ...
Web page is great. Just to let all know Patrick and I moved from Texas and are now living in St. Petersburg, Fl. Alot of packing and unpacking moving from a house to an apartment. Taking our time looking for the right house here in Florida. Looking forward to the reunion this year and seeing you all again.
Another successful Canal Zone Reunion has come and gone. It was wonderful to see so many folks from the Class of 70 in attendance. To the best of my recollection they were: Me, Jacque Crowell, Faye Weisser, Jacque Hunt Arias, Barbara Richey, Fred Tienken, Tom Carey, Patrick & Nancy Mulroy, Carmen Wilmouth, Frances Kerr, Donella Vogel, Jan Farnsworth, Stevie DeHeart, Mike Perry, Robyn Patton Husted, Bill Mac, Art Mokray, Bonnie Nehring, Steve Nehring, Sandy Chesson, Steve Wilson & Cliff Day. (If I have forgotten anyone, lo siento) The CZ reunion is a wonderful experience & if you haven't been in a while you should plan on attending next year. The consensus of the class is to have a 50th birthday party there so that is what we will do. We also have some very happy news to pass on : John Harris & his lovely lady Vivian were married in Dothan on July 21. We look forward to seeing them at the reunion next year & welcome her to the class of 70 family. Please remember to take the time to stay in touch & send us your email & address changes. It is important to us that we don't loose you.
