Have just received notice from the Panama Canal Society that 494 of the 700 rooms at the Marriot have been booked. If you have not yet joined the Society & made your room reservation DO IT NOW!!!!!!The overflow hotel is the Hyatt which is NOT a convenient walk for those in high heels or who have had more than 3 Panamas.

regestration forms that you need are on the main page of this web site! Take advantage of this easy method of downloading this information. If you are having problems retrieving this information please let Bill Mc know. We want to see as many of you there. We have heard from so many classmates that have NEVER attended a reunion before....we are going to have a great time!

Great home page! I wish all of the class would send in their updated personal info. Without it, you are lost to others. In July of 2000, there will also be a reunion of all who ever attended St. Marys School in Balboa. Information about this is available from Kathleen Welch at katbrat@juno.com and it will include faculty.
Belated Happy New Year, Bill. Hope that this finds all well. Have been back in Puerto Rico since early January after spending the holidays in Panama and watching the turnover ceremony on 31 December. Quite an experience. My husband is still there ... working fiscal closeout for the US Government. Was back there for the long weekend last week ... many changes already in motion. The most startling, for me, was the devastation of the wonderful stand of banyan trees along Gaillard Highway outside of Albrook. Apparently the new railroad will go through there. Was a real heartbreak to see all those wonderful trees destroyed. Also learned that the old housing office adjacent to the Balboa Train Station will be taken down and the soccer field by the Fastlich ball fields will be cemented over to be used as a container lot. Fate of the train station is uncertain. Albrook is a competition of who can remodel the most lavishly and houses in Fort Clayton are now on the market. The rock monument at the Administration Building has been moved to make way for a new flagpole ... placed down by the Goethals Memorial as I understand it. Apparently a bit of a controversy over who will get Balboa High School ... the Instituto Nacional or the Panama Canal Authority ... A lot definitely has happened in a short time ... wonder what it will look like the next time I go. But, it is still home and it was great to be there. Puerto Rico is not bad but a lot of challenges for those who have moved here from Panama as well.
